Today's Ultrasound

My heart just melted today when sweet Isaac gave us a thumbs up during today's ultrasound. His poor little body has so many things that are not right, and sometimes I really worry about whether or not he's in pain and can't stand it that I can't do anything for him. His little thumbs up was almost as if to say, "I'm okay in here, Mommy!" It was just the sweetest thing, and I am so thankful that the nice ultrasound tech was able to capture this shot for us.

Today's visit didn't hold any suprises. We knew what we would be hearing, really, although in the back of our minds know that at any second God could change all of this. We had a nice talk with Dr. Gallagher who very gently delivered to us the same news that we heard at Children's two weeks ago, and patiently answered my many questions. In a way, it was good to go today because during our visits with the doctors at Children's I felt like my head was just spinning. Today I had a bit more clarity.

Here are a few more shots. The first is one of Isaac waving, and the other a frontal view of his face.

Thank you to the many of you who have continued to pray for me, Spencer, and sweet Isaac and who have left words of encouragement for us either here or through e-mail. They have been a source of strength for us through this journey, and I want you to know how much we appreciate it.

The pictures are so adorable. My husband peaked over and said something about the thumbs up without me saying anything.

You guys have such a strong faith and are an inspiration not only to me, but to may.

Keeping all of you in my prayers.

I think little Isaac knows more than anyone thinks he does. That thumbs up is beyond sweet and I do think he was trying to tell you and your husband that you are walking through this experience exactly how you should be. You are wonderful parents and I continue to pray for you and Isaac.

Oh, Stacy. I'm so glad you are getting good pictures of your sweetheart. And I know firsthand what a blessing a good, senstive, non-rushed u/s tech can be. I'm SO happy you have one, too.

You are never too far from my heart, friend. Big hugs from Ohio.

Okay, Stacy. I just fell in love with Isaac and I don't even know him (nor you!). His pictures showed you both that he's doing okay in there because you guys are praying for him and fighting for him out here.

I know the future probably doesn't hold what you and Spencer would like, but that doesn't stop me (gosh, all of us!) from fervent prayer that God provides you the miracles He already has in store for your family. Much love to you.

What a sweet gift from the Lord to see the thumbs up. I am so thankful that God did that for you.
He is so close to you. He will give you "treasures of darkness and riches in the secret places".
I am still so so sorry that you are having to face such painful things head on. Your love for Isaac and the Lord is so inspiring.

I love all of the pictures of Isaac. They are the most clear pictures I have seen by ultrasound. I think it was a special gift from God to be able to see him waving and him giving you the thumbs up. I know you are cherishing those memories of today and just replaying them in your head.

I love the picture of little sweet isaac waving to you- :)

I heard this song this morning and the chorus spoke to me through a tough time I am going through--and I hope it blesses you in your tough time you two are going through!--not sure if u have heard of it--but it is my sanctus real called whatever you are doing:

There's a wave that's crashing over me
And all I can do is surrender

(Chorus)
Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
but I'm giving in to something Heavenly

So show me what it is You want from me
I give everything I surrender...
To...

Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life something Heavenly

Hi Stacy and Spencer
I was so happy to accidently find this blog. The song "He Will Carry Me" gave me the same peaceful feeling it did the first time I heard it.
Seeing our grandson Isaac with his thumbs up touches our heart.
We pray every day for the three of you.
Our Love,
Mom and Jack

I happened across your blog today. Isaac is enjoying heaven now with my granddaughter, who died right before her third birthday.

Life is hard, but God is good.
