Ask Away

I've seen other bloggers do a question and answer session with their readers. I know that I write a lot here about Isaac, our experience with him, and what the Lord is teaching us through this. Through that sharing, I am sure folks have gleaned other things about me and Spencer as well.

But there may be things you're wondering... regarding Isaac, or otherwise.

So, I thought it would be fun to open up comments (not that they weren't already) to questions from you all, my faithful readers and pray-ers (is that a word?). So go ahead... ask away... but please ask in good spirit and not judgement or condemnation. I will post again in a few days answering (some of? most of? all of?) your questions!

Oh goody! I have a few....
Ok, first question. Do you see yourself staying in teaching?
Have you thought about writing a book about your journey with Spencer and Isaac?
and finally
I'd love to know more about your sporting routine. I see from Twitter it's pretty intense. How do you fit it all in?

I'd enjoy reading about how you and Spencer met and began your lives together.

I would love for Spencer to write a post on his side/feelings of the pregnancy, Isaac's birth and what he goes through on a day to day basis.
Also do you plan on trying again to have more children?

I know you mentioned you were training for a half marathon, have you raced yet? If so how did it go? What are your fitness goals for the future?

Is there an area of your house that is set aside for Isaac's keepsakes?

Are you and Spencer planning on having any more children? If so, how many would you like to have?

What denomination are you?

Do you think you could ever let God use you to Speak to other women?

Oh, I love your blog :) I would love to hear more about your half marathon training/race (I'm a runner too!), your marriage (how do you keep it Christ-centered? Do you and your husband pray together regularly?), and your hopes and plans for the future :)

Will you and Spencer try for more children? How does that make you feel? Thanks for sharing this personal stuff with us. I will continue to pray for you.

It bothers me that you would even HAVE to say "but please ask in good spirit and not judgement or condemnation". It's not something you should ever have to worry about and it saddens me that people would be that way.

I know fitness and being healthy is important to you and Spencer. When you indulge in fast food -- anything where you walk up to a counter, be it McD's or Panera -- what is your guilty pleasure?

If you could excel at one of the following, which would you choose: a) cooking; b) golfing; c) sewing; or d) gardening

I was also wondering about your thoughts regarding more children. Also, have you thought about adopting children?

Stacy,

I have a few questions. Could Spencer maybe "borrow" your blog for a few days and tell us his side of the story? How did you two meet? And the biggest question of all: How do you keep your marriage Christ centered and it not get caught up in the world, busyness, or sadness?

I love hearing about your life. All of the questions already mentioned sound interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I would also love to hear spencer's story.

Also, so many times marriages seem to fall apart when a child is lost -- how did you/are you & spencer working to keep it strong? Did you experience times when you took your anger and grief out on each other and how did you get past that?

Are you planning to try for more kids/adopt/foster?

Thanks for sharing with us and being so open. You are awesome!

I too would really love to hear about yours and Spencer's marriage. Are you doing any type of counseling either with your church or elsewhere? I know that marriage is so hard without adding the loss of a child into the mix.

I know you read alot of books. Do you read any about keeping your marriage strong and grounded?

I am with the others who would like to hear more about your running/fitness routines. I have always wanted to be a runner, but have battled weight and asthma issues. Thankfully the asthma has seemed to resolve itself, but I really need to get into shape. How do you get started? What keeps you motivated? How do you go about finding events to run in? ect.

As a lurker (and a native of the area you live in!) Just wondering if you were planning on trying for more children.

I've got some softball ones for you, Stacy:

- Important person in your life who has influenced the person you are becoming.

- Something that you are scared to do but WANT to do, but are held back maybe by fear.

- What does your laugh sound like -- are you a big belly laugher or more of a reserved laugher? I always want to know this about people.

I don't have a question but just wanted to tell you that your precious Isaac continues to leave an imprint on my heart. Everytime I see his sweet face I can't help but to feel honored to have known him through your story. You are a beautiful family and I wish you nothing but the best.

Have your found your running, exercise etc helped with grieving for Isaac? Have you always been into fitness and running etc? xxx

I know a lot of people get offended at the mention of the word abortion so I hope that this is not offensive. If it is, feel free to ignore. I have a lot of personal beliefs about abortion but I am not judgmental in any way of other people's beliefs and choices. Have your experiences have made you think or re-think your own personal and/or political beliefs about this controversial topic.

I would like to know what the doctors are saying about the chance of having this happen again with more children? I pray that you & Spencer have a child soon.

I know you said once that you really missed your old school. Will you try and go back now? Are things better at your new one? I know just from reading your posts that you are an incredible teacher.

I would like to know what you specifically do when you work out. I used to be a runner (1/2 marathons) when I was younger and now that I'm almost 40, I am trying to run again and I'm really struggling. Do you have any suggestions?

God bless you!

I am just reading your blog for the first time and it has been such an inspiration. My son passed away 10 months ago due to a heart defect.

I understand what you are saying-I prayed for a miracle of healing as well as I watched my son get sicker and sicker. I have also asked why me but, found your entry interesting when you said why not me?

Thank you for making me feel better tonight.

I, too, am a Christian and am so happy to read your Blog and sense that it is dedicated to God's Glory. There is one question I would like for you to explain further. That is the name of the church you attend. Exactly what is the mission of Evangelical Free Church? What does that mean?
Thank you & God bless & use you,
Claude
