Please Pray

Over the past several weeks I have gotten together with another mom who has found herself in the position of being given a fatal prenatal diagnosis for her son. This mom's precious baby has been diagnosed with triploidy, a lethal genetic condition. She bravely chose to carry her son to term, and is scheduled to deliver him on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be walking with this dear mom on this most unthinkable path; I am grateful that she would allow me into her place of pain; and I am trusting that God is using our experience with Isaac to bring some level of comfort to this family.

I am asking that you would please pray for this family... for this mom, her husband, their two young daughter, and their precious son who is about to be born. Would you please pray for comfort, for peace. Would you please pray for the staff who will be caring for them (which includes my friend, nurse Kathy, that helped deliver both Isaac and Eliana). Would you pray that their time with their son would be precious, and that somehow a lifetime of love would be squeezed into such a finite time? Would you pray for a restful night's sleep the night before for this mother and her husband? Would you pray for wisdom for them as they continue to try to explain this to their two young daughters? Would you pray for a miracle?

One of the things I love about having a blog is being able to write posts like this, and confidently knowing that others will be praying. If you desire to do so, feel free to leave your prayers in the comments below and I will forward them along to this sweet family.

Thank you for joining me in lifting them in prayer...

I pray that this family has the peace the passes all understanding and that God will keep His hand on them in these dark hours. I pray that a miracle may occur if God so chooses to show His mighty power and breathe a breath of life into this baby boy. I pray that no matter what the outcome is that this family's faith may remain strong and no falter to the attempts of the enemy that are sure to come but that they have hope in all they do that they will spend eternity with their son in Heaven. Amen.

Oh Father,
Our hearts are breaking. You know. You know what it is like to watch a Son die. Please wrap Your arms around this family. Allow them to have such an awareness of Your Presence that they will be able to hear Your heart beat out its Love as their hearts break. Oh Father, You are Sufficient. You are Worthy of all our praise. You Love with a Love that defies definition because the finite perspective of our minds is so limiting. May this precious family see You everywhere they look. May they hear You is the softest whispers, the tiniest breaths. May these young sisters know just how precious their baby brother is to You. Use all those around this family to be open conduits of Your Love and Grace as they walk through the valley of the shadow death. We long for You to bring life out of this "impossible" situation. That is the thing we would ask. You are perfectly Able. We also know, that if you don't, You will carry them through this. In our weakness, may Your Strength bring You Glory.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please take care of this family. Please bring joy and peace to their hearts on January 4th when you allow them to meet their precious son. We pray that you allow his parents to get a restful night's sleep before they meet their baby boy. Lord, we know that only you can perform miracles so if it is your will please perform one for this family. Heavenly father, we know that this family is about to experience an unthinkable amount of pain, but only you have the power to heal their hearts with time and scriptures. Lord, please keep your hands on this family and the doctors who are going to take care of this beautiful baby next week.

We pray for peace, joy, healing, and a miracle.

In Your son's precious name,
Amen

I am very much impressed that she chose to carry this baby to full term. That is a courageous thing to do and such reverence for life. I know that it is hard to see it when we go through such trials and tribulations, but there are blessings even in these times. You are a blessing to this sweet family. God blesses us through other people and I'm grateful that you have listened to Him to be an instrument in his hands to help lift this family up. As you lift, you in turn are lifted. May God bless each of you.

Dear Father,my heart aches for this family. For what they are faced with, and will be faced with in the coming week. Lord, I ask that you wrap your loving arms around this family... that you would give them the strength to make it through... that you would calm their nerves, and their hearts. And Father God, I ask that you would give them an overwhelming sense of Peace, as I know You can. And Lord, I know that You are the great physician... and that you have the ability to heal. I just ask that your will be done. I also ask that you continue to use Stacy in the lives of these family members. That her story...her experience... her life would be a blessing to others. We thank You in advance for everything You will do. Amen.

Oh Sweet Father of creation. I pray that if a miracle not be in your plan that you would brace this family with a strength that never could have been imagined. I pray that foolish voices around them would be silenced and that your presence would be so powerful and calming.
I pray that the wisdom Stacey has and the words she has prayed would be heard and that the rest this family needs would come to them.
Prepare them the way you would most bring Glory to your name. protect them from negative people and surround them with those who would love them best.

Give them eternity in a moment.

from a mom who cannot possibly understand and so am humbled.

amen.

Sweet Jesus we just ask that you be with this family. That they will feel your loving arms around them. That they will feel your hands on their baby..knowing you are holding him and healing him with your precious hands. Also, the healing power only you can give to their hearts.
We ask all of this in your precious name!

Lord,
I lift this sweet family to You right now. I pray for your peace and comfort to surround them. That your will will be done. That Your name will be glorified in this situation. Lord I would pray that you would heal this child, make his birth a miracle that is unexplainable except by your grace.
But Lord if that is not your plan, I pray for your strenght to surround them. That you would carry them, surround them with your peace. That the moments that they spend with their son will be cherished moments of beauty. That you will open their eyes to your plan. Lord I pray for a peace that passes all understanding, and their other two children that you will comfort them Lord, and give them knowledge/peace through this.
In Your name I pray!
Amen

No words of wisdom except that I will pray for God to show His merciful love and tenderness to this family tomorrow and through the years to come as they experience this tremendous loss.

And for your heart too, as you walk along side them, remembering your own 'birth day' with Isaac.

Father,
We can't begin to comprehend the plan you have for each of us. We don't understand why the path you map for us involves hurt, pain, and loss. But we do know and trust that you are in control! Please shower this family with a peace that can only come from you. Give them strength and courage to face whatever the outcome may be. Grant them precious family time together! May their faith in you be their stronghold through it all! Amen

Dear Lord, be with this family tonight and forever and let them feel more surely the love you have for each of them. Wrap them in your arms so they will be comforted. May their time with their littlest one be filled with grace and light.
May they move forward with strength into what will be a long road and may they have family and friends to lean on, today, tomorrow and always till they are all together again.
