Putting my most recent post in hiatus until tomorrow to post this instead.
My friend Amber, who I have had the privilege of communicating with via phone and e-mail for the past 4 months or so, and who I have mentioned on here and have asked you all to pray for before, delivered her daughter, Megan Grace, this morning at 4:34 am. Megan Grace weighed in right at 5 pounds. She had her dad's hair and her mommy's feet. Megan Grace passed away 10 minutes after delivery via c-section.
Megan Grace was diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta, type II at about 20 weeks gestation. There are various types of osteogenesis imperfects ranging from mild to severe; type II is considered fatal.
Amber was due until August 2, but because of Megan Grace's condition, developed a few complications with her pregnancy that caused her to come sooner. Though today's delivery wasn't completely unexpected, it was much sooner than Amber and her husband Steve would have hoped.
Please keep Amber and Steve, as well as the rest of their family in your prayers. Amber hasn't posted an update on her blog yet, but you're welcome to still leave a comment there on her most recent post, or here in the comments section. Any comments left here I will forward to her via e-mail.
Thank you for praying for this amazingly brave mom and dad.

I have been and will continue to pray for this amazing family. My heart breaks for them...I cannot imagine the pain.
I will pray.
I have been following her story for awhile now and pray for them often, My heart goes out to them! May God lift them up and carry them through these hard days! I will continue to pray for them!
I just read a fictional book about that same thing. Jodi Picoult's Handle With Care. My thoughts and prayers will be with her today.
Stacy, thanks for being such a good friend to Amber, and for sharing her story here. Amber- I have been thinking of you and praying for your family all day. I am so sorry that Megan Grace is no longer with you, but I know that you will be reunited in Heaven one day.
Stacy,
Oh, I am so sorry for them, it takes me back when I hear about another family joining our club and I know that initial, unbearable pain. I will be praying.
I'm stunned and sad. We're out of town, so my internet accfess has been spotty, and I had no idea this had happened so soon. Thank you for posting, Stac.
Praying for them!
From following your blog for some time, I had also begun following her journey. I prayed for miracles for all of you. Although your babies weren't healed here on earth, I am in awe of each and every one of you. I am thinking of Amber and her sweet Megan Grace today.
I'm just so, so sad right now. Please let them know that I am hurting for them and praying for the peace that passes all understanding.
I'm sorry for the loss of precious Megan. My prayers are definitely with them through this difficult time.
