What's Happening?

A lot! Particularly since it has been well over a month since I last posted (yikes!)

We are excited to share that at last Tuesday's ultrasound (at a little over 17 weeks), that our baby not only looks healthy, but that we will be welcoming another little BOY in December. We are excited for Isaac and Eliana to have a little brother, and for some trucks and trains to invade our house :) And since one of you readers was the one who put us on to the name Eliana, which we obviously fell in love with and chose for our daughter, I would love to hear some of your not-too-common but not-too-random boy names! Feel free to leave a comment below if you have a suggestion. Bonus points if it has a really great meaning :)

Did I also mention that I know a bazillion other gals who are pregnant and are due within a month or two of me? Well, not a bazillion, but several... four of whom are close friends or family. I just think it is really fun to be pregnant with friends!

Eliana just turned 17 months and is just absolutely amazing. She is a ball of serious energy, loves to laugh, has a great sense of humor, and a pretty strong will. We traveled to the beach twice this summer, and she had a blast playing in the sand, running into the ocean and splashing in the surf. Ellie apparently has a great affection for sand crabs (her mother does not!) but doesn't quite understand that you aren't supposed to squeeze them. Since we have been back from the beach, she talks about "ocean," "sand," "toes," and "shovel" constantly. She loves to sing songs (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Do You Know the Muffin Man are two of her favorites), and she is even learning to count! Ellie still loves her books... her lift-the-flap Bible and Oh Baby, Go Baby! are two that she loves. She talks up a storm, and I love that she is becoming more conceptual than just literal. Like right now... Paula Dean is on the Food Network, and she points to the screen and says "COOKING!" She is learning so much right now, and it is just amazing to watch.

The 3rd Annual Isaac Timothy Delisle Memorial Golf Tournament is THIS Friday! The details have been coming together, and we are excited to see what God is going to do through this event. We are grateful to be able to highlight and financially support Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, an organization that is extremely special to Spencer and me. We would appreciate your prayers this week as we work through a pretty extensive to-do list, that the details would come together, for good weather, and most of all that God would be glorified through this event.

I've started a (very) part-time job working from home. This job is not only an absolute blessing (I mean, who doesn't like being able to work in their pj's while sitting on their comfy couch??), but has been a really fun challenge. It has caused me to develop and utilize skills that are in some ways so much different from being a teacher, and I am really enjoying that change. The flexibility of my schedule is definitely an added bonus as well!

So that's the latest on us in a nutshell! It's been a busy month, including a trip to the beach, my laptop crashing, and all kinds of things, but we are grateful for some really exciting things coming up through the rest of 2011!

Congratulations! Another boy! My son's name is Malone (Irish, follower of St. John). If we ever have another boy I think that Hogan (Irish, descendant of a young warrior) will be a strong contender. Both are interesting and off the radar but not youneek.

I do not have any suggestions for you. I just know what we did when we were going through names. Our criteria was, easy to say, will sound ok when our son/daughter is 92, spelled the way it sounds so it doesn't look butchered on a future resume, and not too common. HAVE FUN! Enjoy the pregnancy!

I have been checking frequently to see when you would post a new message. I love this name Ezekiel and think that it may have good meaning for you all. It means God strengthens. There are also some amazing verses from the book of Ezekiel. Including: Ezekiel 36:26
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." (NIV) and Ezekiel 18:4 "For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child – both alike belong to me." (NIV) Congrats on a healthy baby!!! So happy for you all!

I'm so happy for you and your family! Babies sure are blessings! I have 2 sons and one daughter (my daughter is the same age as yours- isn't this a fun age?). My boys' names are Cameron Matthew and Seth Thomas. May the Lord continue to bless your family!

Been reading your blog for awhile. congratulations!
I like Adam. Not really unusual by any means but both of your children's name start with a vowel why not the next one? And the names roll off the tongue. Issac, Eliana, Adam. Just sounds good to me. :)

Our son's names are: Nolan, Mason, Deacon. Our daughter's name is Emersen (Emmy) & I've heard that for boys too!
Happy picking!

My son's name is Josiah. It does seem to be gaining in popularity but I still love it.
We're having another little boy any day now and can't seem to agree on a name. If it were my choice alone he'd be Ezra

Simon - meaning "he heard" - this is a name my husband and I considered when we were surprised with a natural conception after two pregnancies resulting from infertility treatments...special meaning! We had a baby girl, so we didn't get to use this boy name! Hope hearing suggestions helps!

We also like names that are common enough but still unique. Other names we considered/liked were: Griffin, Josiah, Calvin, Blake, Finley, Hunter, Oliver, Hudson, Keegan & Peyton.

Hope that helps... and good luck finding the perfect name for your son. :)

I love Kipton, Micah, Malachi, Eli, Grayson, Aiden... So many cool names. Micah was in my Sunday school class and I absolutely love that kid. He's in middle school now, but he had the strongest faith I have ever seen a child have, and was FUNNY!!!!! The things that kid could come up with...

I am so happy for ya'll! Another son to love... what a blessing.

As far as a boy's name, a precious name in keeping with the vowels (Isaac & Eliana) is Asher, which means "happy" or "happiness". Since big brother Isaac's name means "laughter", "happy" would be very complimentary.

Regardless of the name ya'll pick, your little one will be sure to bless your lives! Congratulations again!

Joshua James.

Congratulations on another baby boy! I love names that start with vowels and I have always liked the name Elias for a boy--and even though it may look very similar to Eliana, when said out loud they sound very different! It has the same meaning as Elijah "My God is the Lord".
